As a company whose associate base is nearly 90 percent women, we’re focused on ensuring women are seen, heard and represented in all we do as a brand – both internally, with our associate culture and workforce development, and externally, including our customer experience, product launches, marketing campaigns and all merchandising, design and creative.

We have a new leadership team driving our refined mission and vision. They work closely with our board of directors, which has the highest percentage of women (7 out of 8 directors) of any Fortune 500 board. Together with our associates, we’re shaping the future of the company, and fostering and advancing a happy, healthy and inclusive culture.

Internally, under our new leadership, we practice radical transparency and foster a culture where our more than 30,000 associates are encouraged to be their authentic selves and rewarded for sharing ideas and speaking up. We hold each other accountable and have adapted robust policies, practices and procedures to ensure this commitment is upheld at every level of the organization.

We hold regular all-company meetings where information is shared with associates and these meetings always end with a live question-and-answer session with leadership. In addition, we host conversation circles led by Inclusion Resource Groups, send weekly newsletters with key business updates and announcements to all associates and hold our leaders accountable for communicating often with their teams.

Through our annual Associate Opinion Survey, we receive transparent feedback on what’s working well and what our company needs to improve. In 2022, 86 percent of associates took the survey. Of those, 87 percent rated as feeling proud to work for VS&Co.
